Richard Schur
Tension, beauty, silence and noise, life—all created by the “sound of color.” My work is about what color evokes. I’m exploring today’s possibilities of abstract painting in the tradition of Hard-Edge. The visual spaces in my paintings open the door to another, transcendental space. There lies what interests me. One could say my art starts where rationality, where the descriptive words end. Somewhere out there lies the mystery of painting.
