I draw inspiration from man-made shapes such as those found in templates for industrial production.

Incongruity, scale, decomposition, color and remnants of the  touch of the hand are important elements in my work. Referring to shapes and patterns acknowledges my cultural and historical influences.

My process is one of observation, play, spontaneous response, constructing and deconstructing. Over time, my work has shifted from a loose reference to geometry to a more direct use of shape and line.
