If my work has evolved across a variety of art forms, borrowing especially from themes in music and literature, it is through the mathematical concepts of repetition, combinatorics, variation and permutation that it asserts its visual identity.
The art form I select is closely dependent on the particular concept, and therefore a work might be realized in video, sculpture or painting using a wide variety of materials, and is often presented in installations. The technique I use is flexible; it is simply a way to express a visual idea.
Only the need for a modular unit, whose proliferation is implicit, remains invariable in my work. And this need, in turn, can only be fulfilled by construction where geometry reins as absolute queen.
