In my pictorial practice, I strive for an efficient mode of expression that tends towards formal simplification and a constructive principle. I want to rid myself of all that is unnecessary to get to the essential.
In my works entitled Losange (Diamond), I can sometimes replace a single module with micro-geometric elements—small squares and triangles—which interact with one another. The edge of the surface is highlighted by the reflection of color on the wall.
In the series of works entitled Plis (Folds), the folding generates its own shape, its texture; its architecture creates space. Acrylic-impregnated papers are cut, then folded with ritual precision.
All these works are related to one another to comprise a unified approach.
